So, you’ve decided to give the Carnivore diet a try. Congratulations, meat eater. You’ve joined one of the most ferocious diets (pun intended), along with much loved celebrities like Joe Rogan. We’re going to break down the purpose fof the Carnivore diet, and what it's supposed to do for you. Then we’re going to share some of our favorite Carnivore diet snacks.
What is the Carnivore Diet?
The carnivore diet makes you a dinosaur. Kidding, it’s actually a diet that consists of only meat, fish, and eggs. Say goodbye to fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes. UFC announcer and Fear Factor host, Joe Rogan went on the carnivore diet and shared his daily meals on his instagram account, including a full-on T-Bone Steak for breakfast.
The Carnivore Diet includes a range of benefits. This is a great dieting program if you’re looking to lose weight, decrease any digestive problems, boost your testosterone level, and more, but those are the main benefits of the carnivore diet.
-
Eggs
Yes, eggs are number one on this list as they’re easy to make and take with you on the go. Not only that, but there are so many different ways you can cook your eggs to enjoy. For a great carnivore diet snack you can boil six eggs and eat them anywhere.
-
Beef Jerky
Protein packed, non-GMO beef jerky is a delicious choice for your carnivore diet snack list. With a variety of flavors to choose from, easy to grab-and-go, you can’t go wrong with quality beef jerky at the ready.
-
Tuna
Personally, I’m a huge fan of Tuna. I typically eat Tune most days for breakfast. But I have it on a bagel. For the Carnivore diet we have to get rid of the bread. What you can do is throw in some mashed up boiled eggs, and some salt and pepper. This is going to make a great add to your list.
-
Deli Meat
This is a must for your Carnivore diet snacks list. Whenever I’m looking for something quick to eat I can just grab some roast beef, over roasted turkey breast, or chicken breast cold cuts. My favorite thing to do with these is roll them up and you’re good to go.
-
Meat Sticks
Have you ever seen those meat sticks in the stores? Sometimes, they are combined with a cheese stick. You know the ones I’m talking about? Great, because you can choose to have just the meat sticks or the combo of cheese and meat sticks. I really enjoy these for an anytime snack and both are okay for your carnivore diet.
-
Bacon
You can throw bacon on your list. Who would have thought that bacon could be included as a snack for any diet. Well, the carnivore diet itself is like a whole new world for those new to it. You can fry up some bacon in between meals for a snack.
Here’s a little tip that I learned growing up. Instead of popping out the oil and the frying pan, you can use the microwave. Wrap the bacon in a paper towel and place it on a microwavable plate. For every piece of bacon you add one minute to the time. So, if you’re making three slices of bacon you set the time to three minutes.
-
Pork Rinds
Yes, pork rinds are a crispy treat that let’s you satisfy that delicious salty snack craving. Let’s face it, if you were previously a big chip eater, you’re going to miss them.
-
Sardines
Let’s get fishy and grab some sardines. I personally have never tried sardines but they are a safe go to carnivore diet snack. They also have some healthy benefits you could take advantage of when you add this to your carnivore diet snacks list. Sardines are packed with Omega-3 fatty acids, which help prevent heart disease. How’s that for a good snack choice?
Wrapping It Up
I hope you got some great ideas from our carnivore diet snacks that you could add to your diet routine. At the end of the day, you can pretty much enjoy any type of meat or fish while you’re on the carnivore diet. Be sure to track what you eat as well as your progress for the best results.
